(November 18 1956 – September 1 2017)
Gilberto Armando Sanchez died tragically in a car accident the night of September 1st 2017. He was the son of Gilberto Sanchez Camacho and Leonila Lozoya. Born in Culiacan Sinaloa, Mexico and raised in Capomos Angostura he was more commonly known as “Gilon” by his family and “Loco Gil” by the rest of the town. He migrated to the United States at the age of 25, leaving behind his home and family. Eleven years later he married Maria Lidia (Sanchez) Aguilar, whom he loved dearly, and from their love flourished two boys - Armando Sanchez and Irving Sanchez Aguilar. Gilberto devoted 24 years of his life to his job where he worked his way up from a forklift driver to buying his own truck and becoming an owner and operator.
Gilberto was the most caring and loving father anyone could ask for; he truly put his family before himself. Everything he did was for his wife and two sons, or as he referred to them, his “tesoros”. He was proud of all of his sons’ accomplishments and goals and knew his efforts were not in vain; he saw a prosperous future ahead of them. Gilberto always brought a smile to everyone’s face with his stories, jokes, sense of humor, and good food, but mainly his ceviche.
Gilberto enjoyed returning home to Mexico and spending time with his friends and family. He loved the simple things in life: getting together with old friends, storytelling, teasing whenever possible, pulling pranks, scaring people, and of course having a nice meal (or two). He will live on through the memories he left and the love he shared.
His funeral service will be held Monday, September 11, 2017 at Funeraria Del Angel in Anaheim (2425 W. Lincoln Ave. Anaheim, CA 92801) from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
Arrangements under the direction of Funeraria del Angel Anaheim, Anaheim, CA.
