(Part 3 of 3) We were truly sad the day she died. Cliff had been texting with my wife and said he would check with his wife on something, and the next thing we knew he texted My Wife just died. I’m crying!!!!!!. For a short moment, we thought it was one of his jokes, but no it wasn’t. 

She had passed on. Her heart had given out. I like to think of it in this way. She gave so much of her heart and love to others that there finally was not enough of it left to give. She had lived her life loving and giving what she could to others. For this love, I’m sure God has a special place in heaven that he prepared just for her. I wouldn’t be surprised if family or close friends continue to get feelings or promptings that she will try to share to help them continue to grow and be happy.

(Part 2 of 3 Brent & Stacie Meredith) Michelle loved her children and grandchildren. They often either were living with her or visiting. Even if there were disagreements, she seemed to always welcome them and try to help them get by in whatever circumstances they were struggling with. When Stacie as Young Women’s President wanted to connect with Natalie, more often than not she would find her at Michelle’s.  
After coming home from the care center and mostly confined to bed because of physical limitations, she still maintained a truly positive attitude. I’m sure there were often down days because she would tell us she wasn’t up to a visit. When we did visit, she was almost always happy. She always asked about the other members, or often told us things about other members we had not yet heard. Somehow among the deaf, she had connections to get word out faster among each other than I have seen occur among the hearing community. It was fun to see her get excited when she learned about something she didn’t’ know or even to have someone come visit. I remember how sad she was when Cliff accidently stepped on and broke her glasses and then how excited she was when we told her we could get them fixed.  Even though she may have seemed a burden to others at the end, she tried hard not to be. One of the last times we visited, she got after Cliff when he said he needed to take care of her and struggled to come to church, which we admired him for. But she told him I can get by for a couple hours and call someone if I need help. You haven’t been for a long time. You need to go to church. She didn’t want him to lose the spiritual connection he had with God, and knew it was easier for him to make that connection at church. 


We met Cliff and Michelle in the Rolling Hills Deaf Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints about 6 years ago. Michelle was a dynamo and always positive and involved in branch activities. She had a strong testimony of the gospel, loved the Savior and was always thinking about and encouraging others. Cliff was not a member at the time. I don’t think there was anyone she encouraged more to learn about and accept the gospel than she did Cliff. She knew and loved everyone. She was so excited when Cliff of his own accord decided to be baptized and join the church. That was one thing people admired about her. She recognized differences and loved others anyway.
 She told me about a group of our deaf members who became lifelong friends that loved and enjoyed playing soccer and socializing and eating together long before she ever joined the church. Manny Quesada, Alex Duran, her former spouse Delfino Perez, and her current spouse Cliff McCraw were all friends and continue to be so. Recently when Alex passed, she shared fond memories of their fun times together playing soccer, going out to eat and more. Even after a change in marriage, she still loved both Cliff and Delfino, getting after Cliff to take me to see him and try to get him to church. She hated that Delfino was stuck in the care center, which I’m sure she could relate to based on her own personal experiences. When she went into a rehab center after an operation to recover and then Covid hit and no one could visit her, she struggled. Cliff struggled because of being separated due to the restrictive Covid rules. Both were so happy when she was finally able to come home, even though she never recovered enough to get up and about fully on her own. (Brent & Stacie Meredith Part 1 of 3)
