I can honestly say that the greatest memories we have of Phil are how happy he made my mom, Barbara Mazac. Phil and my mom were best friends. They called each other everyday, they traveled to casinos on a regular basis, went out to eat together and they took care of each other when they were sick.  I truly believe they were best friends and they lived longer and had so many happy times because they cared so much for each other. Phil was like an uncle to us and our boys Alec and Ari and he always asked them about school from Junior High through College. He always gave us advice. He was part of our family. We miss you Phil, but I know that you and my mom are still having fun now in heaven.

There was never a time when you weren’t part of our lives! From the house on 115th to Margie Lane you were always part of the memories that were being made.  You were always there for me too and I remember on several occasions I called you before I called mom and dad because I knew you’d help me through whatever issue I was dealing with. I’ll miss you tugging on my hair and asking if it was real or another wig! You’re with daddy and Mike now and I’m hoping you guys are golfing or playing cards! I love you and I’ll miss you but I’m so very happy you were part of the Possemato’s life! Till we meet on the other side.  Ciao Joanie

Uncle Phil has a special place in my heart.  My earliest memory of him was when I was a little girl. Uncle Phil, his brothers, Frank & Joey, and my grandpa Tom would be in the kitchen sitting around the table playing cards and smoking. I wanted to go run through the sprinklers but I had to pass through the kitchen to get outside...I was afraid of Uncle Phil because of his deep voice!!!  This happened at my mom’s parents, Tom and Anne’s, home on Bellevue in Los Angeles.  This scenario happened several times.  Alas I grew out of my fear of uncle Phil.   He would ask me if I was afraid of him.   He was always fun to be with. I will miss him. 

I have known Karen for over 40 years from when I lived in California, I have had the pleasure of being in Phil's company on a few occasions I found him to be very personable and pleasant to be around, leaving a lasting impression. as if I had known him all my life.  I also felt a special connection as my Dad's name was also Phillip, and had passed at a young age. Needless to say I can see there were lots of good memories with family and he will be missed. R.I.P.

My fondest memory of Mr. Phillip Vinci was when we first met, Thanksgiving day at the (old) Villa Nova restaurant in Newport Beach, CA in the nineteen nineties. Karen was gracious enough to invite me as my family was traveling for the holidays. Her only stipulation was that I'd be meeting her father, who owned several businesses and was also "ex-military". With this in mind, I was mildly concerned the dinner conversation with Mr. Vinci may include a detailed discussion of my background... and also some questions regarding my intentions towards his beautiful daughter ! Instead, my recollection of the dinner was that Mr. Vinci was one of the nicest, down to earth, friendliest gentlemen I'd ever met. He welcomed me as if I was a new member of the family and we had an awesome time and dinner celebration. I was totally comfortable that day with my new "family" and I recall I was also quite impressed with Phillip's overall knowledge on a wide variety of discussion topics, including my favorite sports....football, baseball and horse racing. 

Although we saw each other later at other gatherings, I will always remember most and be thankful to Mr. Vinci for being a great dinner host and ensuring I had a great time, that day we first met in November 1994. 


There are so many fond memories of my Uncle Phil, but the ones I treasure most is when he would visit with my family in New Jersey. We would always spend time just hanging out and eating good old Italian food. R.I.P Uncle Phil!!! Love your niece Patty! Xoxo

Im always remember those days when im taking care of you. Especially when you call me ( Thats My Boy) and im always pray for you. Rest in peace DAD 

Dads 90th Birthday Party !  He loved it, he was with his Family. ❤️

My father "Big Lou" of the Big 4 and Uncle Phil have been friends for all of our lives.   He has been a part of every holiday, celebration and sad journey my family has experienced.   Phil and I  worked together every day at the liquor store and shared many a laughter and a few of my tears behind that counter.  He loved my husband, my children and my grandchildren.    He became Uncle Phil to all of my girlfriends !
About 2 months ago my sister, Joanie and I went to see Uncle Phil in the hospital.  We were both holding his hand and to our surprise, he started to sob.   That in turn made us cry.  When we asked him  why,  He simply said,  "I have known you girls most of our lives and we have been through so much together.  I love you.   What a wonderful last word with our special "Uncle Phil".     I am so going to miss calling him and hearing him joyfully say..... Theresa !!!
