A celebration of life visitation for Charleen will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Maplewood Village Lodge, 413 Southeast Delaware Avenue, Ankeny, IA 50021.
She was born Feb 24, 1943, in Harrisburg, PA to Leota and Creedin Cornman. At the age of 16, she married Gordon Everett Doty of Dover, MN in Fort Dodge, IA and had four children: Stacia Duncan (Carl) of Chandler, AZ, Karla Black (Ed) of Ankeny, IA, Tonya Doty (Wendy) of San Tan Valley, AZ, and Kendra Evans (John) of Franklin, TN. She was widowed in Nov 1993. She moved to Chandler, AZ in 2003, where she met and married Michael Louis Ryan and subsequently widowed in Feb 2018.
She was also preceded in death by her mother, father, two brothers Kevin and Allen, granddaughter Emma, and son-in-law, Ed.
Charleen is survived by all four of her children; 4 of 6 brothers; all 5 sisters; 14 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She had close relationships with her brother, Donnie; sister-in-law, Mel, and sisters, Linda, Brenda, and Diana, who will miss her very much.
As a young adult, Char loved playing Bingo, Bowling with her husband and close friends, and Ceramics.
Later in life, she had a passion for gardening, creating jewelry, ceramics, and visiting with friends.
