Christopher Brian Reimers

Christopher “Chris” Brian Reimers, born December 3, 1971, in Des Moines, Iowa, to David Charles Sr. and Barbara Sue Reimers, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication to family and work.

Chris was a proud graduate of East High School and began his lifelong career with Andersen Corporation after graduation. Through hard work, determination, and commitment, he rose within the company to become a respected maintenance technician. He took great pride in his career and the relationships he built along the way.

On May 7, 2022, Chris married the love of his life, Luz Elena Reimers (Iraheta), in a beautiful ceremony at the Ramada in Des Moines, surrounded by family. Their marriage was a source of deep joy and companionship.

Chris had a passion for the outdoors, especially waterfowl hunting across Iowa. He was also an avid bird watcher who could identify nearly every species that visited his cherished bird feeders. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his four-wheeler, watching football, especially cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, and spending time grilling and smoking meals for his loved ones.

A man of strong faith, Chris found peace and comfort in prayer, particularly in reciting the rosary. He enjoyed it when Father James came to the family’s residence and to Kavanagh House to play his guitar, sing, and pray for Chris. Music was another of Chris’s joys, and he loved listening to classic rock bands like Mötley Crüe, AC/DC, Journey, Guns N’ Roses, and KISS.

Above all, Chris was a devoted family man. He treasured every moment spent with his loved ones and was always organizing gatherings to bring everyone together. He was immensely proud of his children and found great happiness in being a grandfather. Known for his sharp mind and great sense of humor, Chris brought laughter and warmth to those around him.

Chris will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved.

He was preceded in death by his Dad, David Charles Reimers Sr.

He is survived by his Mom, Barbara Sue Reimers (Quinn); his wife, Luz Elena Reimers (Iraheta); his children, Bryce Reimers, Hailey (Jordan) Keasey, Yessica (John) Roper, Javier Iraheta, Elizabeth (Colby) Erickson, and Mariano Arreola; his siblings, David Charles (Lorry) Reimers Jr., Michelle Marie Anderson, and Douglas Quinn (Steve) Reimers-Gin; his grandchildren, Grayson Keasey, Kylie Roper, Elena Roper, Kalen Roper, and Baby Boy Erickson; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend for over 45 years, Randy Mason.
