Danny Lee Baughman

Danny Lee Baughman, 64, of Ankeny, Iowa, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 24, 2016, at Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Catholic Church (510 E. 1st St. Ankeny, IA 50021). Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m., with a vigil service at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Ankeny Funeral Home (1510 W. 1st St. Ankeny, IA 50023).

Born January 14, 1952 in Des Moines Iowa to Clark and Eula (Allard) Baughman, Danny was the last of three children. He graduated from Ankeny High School in 1970 and married Rosalyn Donaghy in September 1972. Danny and Rosalyn made their home together in Ankeny for 44 wonderful years.

Danny spent 30 plus years in the building and lumber sales industry. In May 2002 he opened his own small business, Iowa Window and Door, in Ankeny and operated it until health issues caused his retirement in December 2012. He took pride in his job offering quality services and workmanship and striving to make his customers happy and satisfied.

He was a kind, loving and generous man. He had a quick sense of humor, was always happy and many people called him friend. Fishing and traveling were two of his favorite things. He especially loved trips to Destin Florida with Rosalyn, enjoying the beautiful beaches and delicious gulf seafood. He leaves us with wonderful and happy memories of many great trips, outings and adventures with family and friends. Words cannot express how much he will be missed.

Danny is survived by his wife, Rosalyn; sister JoAnn (Dale) Goins; sisters-in-law Nancy Baughman, Rita (Donaghy) (Dick) Barse, Teresa (Donaghy) Lavender; brother-in-law Stephen Donaghy and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clifford Baughman and brother-in-law, Dan Donaghy.
