Darwin Dale Davis was born on December 11, 1961, in Estherville, Iowa to Donald Dean and Darlene Dal (Laidig) Davis. He graduated from Des Moines Tech High School in 1981. Darwin was a contracted truck driver for the Post Office for over 30 years. He was united in marriage to Laura Sue Carr on May 7, 1994, at Ankeny First United Methodist Church. They had two sons, Joshua Paul and Michael Dale.
Darwin enjoyed martial arts. He had a black belt in taekwondo, he was an instructor and coach at Farrells in Ankeny, he was a spin instructor at the YMCA. He was an avid bike rider. He loved spending time at the family cabin at Lake Washburn where he could ride the Sea-Doo going as fast as he could to reach top speed. He loved to play cards, especially Pitch. He also enjoyed watching the sunset. He was a good woodworker and built many pieces for his home. Most of all, Darwin dearly loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He took a fishing trip to Canada with his boys and landed his first walleye. He was a Minnesota Vikings fan and went to his first Vikings game with his boys last year.
Darwin was a member of Ankeny First United Methodist Church for over 30 years. He participated in Alpha, numerous bible studies, and taught Sunday school. Most importantly he believed Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior.
