

Harold Jack Hildreth, 84, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015. A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the Ankeny First United Methodist Church (206 SW Walnut Street, Ankeny, IA 50023). A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the Ankeny First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow services in the Lincoln Cemetery in Alleman, IA.
Bojack was born on July 7, 1930, in Ankeny, IA to Rufa and Grace (Woods) Hildreth. He graduated Ankeny High School in 1950 as an All-Stater for the Basketball team; he later attended Iowa State University on a football scholarship. In 1952, he married his High School sweetheart Charlene White and they were blessed with three children.
Bojack co-owned S & H Decorating, where he worked as a painter. He served in the Navy Reserves. Bojack loved working with his hands, restoring furniture, making knifes, or fixing things around the house. He worked hard and played hard, he will be remembered for his kind heart, fun loving nature, his knack for telling a good story and his sense of humor.
Harold is survived by his wife of 62 years; Charlene, daughters; Carol (Ray) Peterson, Diane (David) Drake, son; Brian (Jodi) Hildreth, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his parents; Rufa (Grace) Hildreth, brothers; Irving and Richard, sisters; Virginia and Jean, grandsons; Nickolas Hildreth, Shannon O’Connor, and his favorite dog Brown Bear.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ankeny First United Methodist Church, the Ankeny Historical Society in Harold’s name, or Sunny View Care Center.
