Linda spent her early childhood in the small town of New Market, Iowa, where her family first lived in the country before moving into town. When she was around eight years old, her family relocated to Marathon, Iowa, where she would grow up and later graduate from Marathon High School in 1968. During her high school years, Linda was a proud member of the glee club, where her love of music began to shine.
Linda was known throughout her life as a dedicated and hardworking woman. She spent 27 years working as a property tax accountant at Casey’s General Store headquarters, where she built lasting relationships and earned the respect of her colleagues through her commitment and strong work ethic.
Above all else, Linda devoted her life to being a loving and supportive mother to her son, Jeff. She never missed a ball game and made sure he was at every practice, always cheering him on as his biggest fan. No matter the circumstance, Linda would always find a way to provide for him. Being a mother was her greatest joy and proudest role.
Linda was a faithful member of Open Bible Fellowship in Ankeny, where her faith was an important part of her life. She found peace and happiness in worship music, especially beloved hymns such as “Hallelujah,” “Amazing Grace,” and “O Holy Night.”
She also found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Linda loved gardening, tending to her flowers, especially roses, irises, and lilies and growing vegetables to share with her family. She had a creative spirit and enjoyed drawing and coloring, often spending quiet moments with her coloring books.
Linda will be remembered for her kindness, strength, unwavering love for her son, and her deep faith. Her life was a testament to devotion, both to her family and to the values she held dear.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin David Briggs and Wilma June (Adams) Briggs.
She leaves behind her beloved son, Jeff; her granddaughter, Oliva Grace; along with many friends and loved ones who will cherish her memory.
Linda’s legacy of love, faith, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
“God is within her, she will not fall: God will help her at break of day.” Psalm 46:5
