Marlo Jean Sharpe, age 71, of Ankeny, Iowa passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023. A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 7 - 9 p.m. at Ankeny Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur the next day at 10:30 a.m. at Ankeny Funeral Home. Burial will take place following the service at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa.
Marlo was born on December 16, 1951, in Rock Island, Illinois to Robert and Shirley (Stafford) Wild. She enjoyed reading the bible and was proud of her strong faith in Jesus. Marlo cherished spending time with family and friends and loved kids. So much so, she provided daycare to many children over the years. Marlo was an accomplished organist and had a knack for being a great pool player.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by those that love her.
Marlo is survived by her husband of 52 1/2 years, James; daughters, Heather (Rusty) Milligan and Rachel (Tom) Dowhan; grandchildren, Lacey Milligan, Noah Milligan, Kyle Dowhan, and Emily Dowhan; brother, Dr. Steven Wild of Colona, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Robert Wild; mother, Shirley Wild; and brother, Mark Wild.
