Michelle Chappell

A celebration of Michelle’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 10, 2017, at Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines with visitation one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at the Bondurant Cemetery.

Michelle Linn Mark was born July 2, 1960, in Atlantic, Iowa. She grew up in Bondurant before attending Iowa State University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Michelle made her career as an accountant at The Art Store in Des Moines, and later with Titan Tire in Des Moines when her cancer diagnosis led to an early retirement.

Michelle enjoyed spending time with friends, checking off all of the items on her bucket list by traveling around the United States and to London. Most of all, she loved being a grandma to Claire, Elsa, and her future grandson. She was proud of many things, but the greatest blessings in her life were her grandchildren. She treasured spending as much time as possible with them and her two children, Monica and Alex.

Michelle will be deeply missed by her children, Monica (Joe) Scheib and Alex Chappell; granddaughters, Claire and Elsa; mother, Karen Mark; and siblings, Maureen (Bruce) Kuch and Heather Anukam.

The family would like to thank the staff at Rowley Masonic Community and HCI Care Services for their exceptional care.
