Patricia was born September 25, 1928 and died September 13, 2011 of natural causes at Mercy Hospice. She leaves behind a loving legacy. The two most important aspects of her life were her faith and her family. Left to celebrate her memory are children Scott (Caitlin) Faulkner, Patrice (John) Sayre, Cynthia (Ritch) Berkland, and Melinda Faulkner—as well as a brother, B.J. Scott. She is also survived by grandchildren Katie, Melissa, Andrew, Joshua, Zachary, Nathan, Grant, and Meghan, and great-grandchildren Isaac and Joey Ramona. She was predeceased by Rusty, her husband of nearly 60 years, and her brother, David.
Patricia was a world traveler, a motorcycle rider, car rallyist, seamstress, sailor, accomplished singer, amateur actor, pianist and competitive bridge player.
She was fiercely protective of all those she loved, generous with her time and resources, and a wonderful friend to many people.
The family appreciates all of your good wishes, and asks that any memorials be donated in Patricia’s name to either Ankeny Dollars for Scholars, or the Ankeny Christian Church. A memorial service will be held at Ankeny Christian Church at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 16.
