Sabina C. Volz, 97, passed away Friday, April 30, 2010 at Bishop Drumm Care Center in Johnston, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 6 PM, Sunday, May 2, with a Vigil service at 6 PM, at Ankeny Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Monday, May 3, 2010 at Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, 510 East 1st Street, Ankeny, with burial in Ankeny Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Sabina was born May 7, 1912 to Edward and Anna Volz in Elkhart, Iowa. She worked in Washington D.C. for the U.S. Government until she retired in 1969.
Survivors include brothers, Henry E. (Phyllis) Volz and Bernard J. (Alberta) Volz; sisters, Mary Ann Volz and Betty L. Wines; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Celeste Kelly, Gilberta Welch, Velma Gordon and Ruth Hall.
