Sharon Rose Sease, 81 of Ankeny, Iowa, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, under the care of hospice after suffering from a stroke. Sharon was born in San Mateo, California on September 2, 1942, to Leo and Elaine Mahoney of Cherokee, Iowa (deceased). She is survived by her sister, Pam Schuver (Dan), their children Amy and Jeff, and their children. She is also survived by former spouse Edmund Sease, father of her 2 daughters: Heidi and Vicki.
Sharon’s immediate family includes her oldest daughter, Heidi Sease Nebel of Johnston and her son Jake Nebel, along with her youngest daughter, Vicki Giesselmann (David) of Ankeny, and their children Alisha Giesselmann and Liz Maciejewski (Nathan), great grandson Aiden Maciejewski. Finally, Sharon is survived by her feline companion, Mandy, who is cared for graciously by Jake’s Dad, Kent Nebel.
Sharon had numerous very close beloved friends and lived a tremendous amount of life in her 81 years. Her family, particularly her grandchildren and great grandchild, were her greatest pleasure.
Sharon had a green thumb and found peace and joy in time spent planting and caring for her flowers. She was a very social person and she kept busy zipping around town for lunches with friends, volunteering at the church or hospital, and could often be found at any local tearoom. Lunch was always just a means to an end for the main event, dessert!
Sharon was a kind and generous person with a zest for life and adventure. She was grateful to God for His many blessings.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, April 19ths from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Ankeny First United Methodist church, 206 SW Walnut St, Ankeny, IA, 50021. The celebration of life will follow at the same location, beginning at 3:00 pm.
