Theodore was born November 17, 1948 in West Des Moines, IA to Theodore Thomas and Patricia Ann (Dalton) Warywoda. He graduated from Valley High School in 1968 and Iowa State University with his Master’s degree in 1974. Theodore enlisted in the United States Navy and retired as a Lt. Commander in 1993.
Ted was united in marriage to Patricia Irene Graham on May 26, 1972 in Des Moines, Iowa. They welcomed two children Matthew and Andrew. Ted was a fantastic father, husband, teacher and mentor of all things and a HUGE supporter of his children and grandchildren. He traveled the world during his time with the Navy, not only in his youth but with his family as well. He was the most out-going and personable person in the room and was just at ease at making people laugh as he was at being a loving family member and friend. His love of dogs included having canine friends over the years like Carrots, Rover, Mikey, Pepper, Sadie, Ashley, Mack, Bonnie and Archie to spending time volunteering at the Animal Lifeline of Iowa every week.
Ted is survived by his wife, Patricia Warywoda of Ankeny; sons: Matthew Warywoda of Ankeny and Andy (Jodie) Warywoda of Des Moines; grandchildren: Sierra Warywoda, Evelyn and Mabel Warywoda; siblings: Steve (Betty) Warywoda of West Des Moines, Sally (Jim) Walling of Des Moines and Lorene (Jeff) Vaughn of Washington state, along with nieces and nephew, Stephanie, Willow, Tanya and Joey.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org/iowa) or the Animal Lifeline of Iowa (www.animal-lifeline.com).
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.AnkenyFuneralHome.com for the Warywoda family.
