Vivian Kathryn Ricklefs Zoss

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 27, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ankeny with burial to follow at Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Ankeny Funeral Home.

Vivian Kathryn Ricklefs was born to Louis and Bertha Ricklefs in Pocahontas County IA on January 30, 1931. She graduated from Manson High School in 1949, and was united in marriage to Leonard Zoss on June 26, 1949. The couple made their home in Ankeny and were blessed with four children.

Vivian was known as the family historian and was always able to connect relatives. She also enjoyed collecting porcelain head vases, playing bingo and board games with her family. Most of all Vivian loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Lowell and Ervin. She is survived by Leonard Zoss her husband of 65 years, her sister LaVonne Benna of Pocahontas, IA; her children Jackie (Tim) Daugherty of Adel IA, Sandra (Dan) McComb of Glenwood IA, Judy (Tom) Smithson of Panora, IA, Ed (Sherie) Zoss of Ankeny, IA; 8 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
