She left too soon......Martin took care of her roof and I took care of her keys - friends working together at MSU!

I knew Bernadine,  for a brief period in Old Town, Lansing.  I had the privilege of getting to know her so enjoyed her and appreciated her talents. She was on my mind recently while at the Blues Fest and wondered about her. She was not an easy person to forget, her genuine warmth and kindness was apparent. God bless her.

I met and became friends with Bernadine through her son Greg when I moved to Cape Coral in 2009 living just across the street from him and Mark.  We shared some fun times together in Florida, buying our first kayaks and attempting the waters, dancing and eating out as well as checking out Old Town when I was a guest in her beautiful home in Lansing. I will always remember the holidays we spent together. I will never forget when we got the Christmas Tree and decorated it at Aunt Bernadine's condo! And our tip to Cape Coral was wonderful. Kevin and I will always cherish the times we had together, and will always love our Aunt Bernadine. God bless you!

We shared a very special bond with Bernadine as the grandparents of Caitlin and Claire. We enjoyed all the times we spent together and will always miss her. She remains in our hearts and always in our prayers.

Bernadine has been part of our over 50 singles group at St. Katharine Drexel Church in Cape Coral since we started in the summer of 2008.  She has come to our meetings and went on quite a few outings with us.  She has always been very gracious, pleasant and fun to be with.  She also played Mahjong with our group when she was here.  She has been in our thoughts and prayers since her recent illness.  We will miss her.  Our sympathy to all her family and friends.

Bernadine was a good friend.   We met for dinner once a month for over 20 years.  She was a special lady with a wonderful artistic ability.  In the 90's I spent a grand adventure touring Europe with Bernadine.  The memories of Bernadine will be forever cherished.

Bernadine was a very resourceful woman.  She never ceased to amaze me, with her strength and wide range of talents.  And  she loved having people around.  She'd say:  the more the merrier.  She will be sorely missed.

Bernadine was such an accomplished woman. I was privileged to know her for the past 30 years.  We had a social  relationship as single women.  Then she threw a bridal shower for me at her home in Lansing for my second marriage.  I only wish I had gone with her to her cottage on Lake Huron and to see her construction in Old Town.  She is leaving a positive impact on my life.

Bernadine was a pioneer in Old Town. Her efforts helped to make our neighborhood what it is today. For that, I am incredibly thankful. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

Bernadine has left an indelible imprint on this planet and its peoples not only in terms of her artistic accomplishments, but also her examples of tenacity and self realization. Our family will never be whole without her.
Someday we will all be reunited.

There are many good memories of my sister, Bernadine.  So many they could fill a book or two.  

I remember the farm on Sanford Road.  The dinning room was a great room where, in the winter, we took our baths in a wash tub in front of the stove.  We liked to play ping-pong on the dinning room table.  Of course we also had many meals at the big table, especially at Thanksgiving time.  Bernadine had the best bedroom that she shared with Pat, and they had barn parties in the upstairs of the big milk barn.
 
I remember our family going to church and hearing my Father's voice singing so loud and clear from  one end of the pew, and Mom's on the other end.  Grandma was up in the choir loft and we could hear her too.  

We always went together to family parties and had great times with cousins, aunts and uncles and our grandparents.  In the summer there were great parties at Grandpa John's farm, and at Christmas and Easter we went to Detroit to Grandma Gajewski's house.   Of course we often visited all of our aunts and uncles too.  
 
As we grew up, there were some great times with you at your place.  There was a little pinewood derby car that I built with Greg and Tim, and I burned a chocolate cake in your oven for your birthday.  We chopped down Christmas trees and you cooked the best meals.  I love you, Beverley loves you and so does Lynette.  My little Bundle always loved to go to see her Aunt “Bonadine”.  You loved your granddaughters dearly and they love you.  You are loved by so many people.  
 
As your brother, we spent a lot of time together, and I have many memories.  We went to plays in Canada, to antique stores, and there was even the time that I kidnapped you and took you and Uncle Hillary for the weekend to Gaylord to see his friend Chuck Russo.  

Bernadine, You had a remarkably full life and many accomplishments.  You are so proud of your sons, and I love them both and am very proud to have these men as my nephews.  I can think of many things you did with them over the years.
 
Your love of architecture is inspiring.  It is unbelievable what you did to your homes, your office building and your cottage.  So inspiring!  How many careers have you had?  At least half a dozen, and many years of college in the process.

There are so many good memories, Bernadine.   I look forward to seeing you again some day!  With love from your brother....
