Darlene Elizabeth Dinsa

Darlene Elizabeth (Proctor) Dinsa, age 57, of Ann Arbor, MI, and formerly of Red Hook, NY, passed away May 20, 2024 surrounded by her family after battling an unexpected illness. She was a true fighter to the very end. Born March 4, 1967 in Poughkeepsie, NY, to Roland J. Proctor and Dolores (Sturgess) Proctor. Darlene was a lover of all things especially her Boston Terrier dogs. Her charismatic personality led her to make friends anywhere and everywhere she went. The greatest loves of her life, and what she was most proud of are her five children and six grandchildren. She graduated from Columbia Greene Community College nursing program in 1999. For many years she worked at Northern Dutchess Hospital as an RN, followed by working for the state of NY. She will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile and infectious laugh. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her as she touched many hearts along her travels. The only thing more special than her personality was her enormous heart and kind soul.

Darlene is predeceased by her father, Roland J. Proctor and her dog, Buster aka Butterhead. She is survived by her husband, Surjit Dinsa; her five children, Jordan (Sofia) Schoonmaker, Justin (Jolee) Schoonmaker, Kaitlin (Andy) Yurista, Marissa (Travis) Schoonmaker, and Parris (Freddy) Schoonmaker; her six grandchildren, Vincent, Taegan, Anthony, Trevor, Tucker, and Hudson; her mother, Dolores Proctor; her siblings, Dawn, Joe, Ronnie, Doreen, Jenny, Darren, Sue, Stacey; her many nieces and nephews; and also her three dogs, Bella girl, Piper, and Sunny boy from the company B.

Celebration of Life will be planned and held a later date.
