David Lyn Cummings

Cummings ,David Lyn went home to be with his Lord on January 7, 2012 after an extended illness. He was born on April 29, 1943 in Ann Arbor. David served in the military after graduating from Ann Arbor High School in 1961. He resumed his education and graduated from the University of Michigan, then went on to receive a Master’s of Divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. David married Barbara Jane Glushyn December 27, 1975. They pastored churches in St. Joseph, MI, Forks, WA and Cadillac, MI. After retiring to Plymouth, MI in 2010, they became members of Praise Baptist Church. He will be missed by his wife, his sister Joyce (Jim) Deck, brothers Clayton and Denny (Noel) Cummings and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold “Harry” and Mary (nee Hatchard), brothers Harold “Skip” and Eugene “Louie”. Memorial services were held January 10, 2012 with Pastor Jeff Noble officiating. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery in Dixboro with military rites by the Washtenaw County Honor Guard.
