

Donald Ross Finkbeiner passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Ann Arbor and lived here all his life. He met and married his wife, Eva Lum in Ann Arbor and they were married for 29 years. He is survived by his wife Eva (Lum), brothers-in-law, Irving Lum and Benny J. Lum and wife Debbie, niece Bryanna and nephew Daylan. Also surviving him is his older and much loved sister, Patricia Keith and spouse Anthony, nieces Karen and Kelly. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Ruth Finkbeiner and his brother, John Finkbeiner and brother-in-law Edward Lum.
He loved to travel as far away as the Philippines. He loved airplanes and could identify them in the sky and sometimes by the motor like his favorite plane, the B-17 bomber. His two favorite air museums were the Yankee Air Museum and Wright Patterson Air force Museum in Ohio. He loved to read non-fiction books on the Civil War and WWII. And he loved to play war games using those two categories as the battlefields. He visited Normandy where his father had landed in WWII. His favorite work place was Borders where he could get free books and work with his wife. He was a very loving husband and loving brother to his family.
