Georgiann North

She grew up in Ann Arbor, went to Ann Arbor High School, earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Oakland University, and for decades taught various grades in elementary school.

Georgiann loved and communicated astonishingly well with animals. She spent years training her horse Kitt Kat and competing in dressage with him, one of the loves of her life. Five years ago they became members of the Dressage Foundation's Century Club, completing a dressage test when their combined ages were over one hundred.

She lived a healthy and fulfilling life until the final year of disability from Alzheimer's. Georgiann was kind and quiet, a pure and innocent and gentle soul.

She is survived by her longtime partner Michael Sachs, her brother Clare North (Eileen), her sister Marcia North (John), her nieces Ashley and Channa North, and her best friend Carol Gustafson.
