
Well, she did it! Helen went home, on December 30, 2011, eight gracious years following her stroke. Helen was born in Delano, PA, in 1922, to Michael and Kathryn McCarron, the sixth of eight children. She graduated from King County Hospital Nursing Program and worked as an RN in Detroit and Ypsilanti. Helen was a former member of the St. Thomas Altar Society. She helped several local children to read, working as a reading tutor at King School in Ann Arbor, also she made innumerable baby quilts for the Father Jackson Home. She married her childhood friend, William J. Kistler, in 1945. He preceded her in death, along with their infant daughter, Helen, their grandson, Daniel Kistler, and all of her siblings. She is survived by her five children, Theresa Nestorak (David), William Bradley Kistler (Jackie), James Kistler, Karen Saren (Jerry) and Daniel Kistler (Sandrine Pierre). Her family includes grandchildren, Jeffrey Kryski (Jill), Tim Nestorak, Mike Nestorak, John Kistler, Jessica Ramos (Jerimiah), Clarissa Kistler, Sylvia Kistler, Patrick Kistler, Matthew Siers: Jessica Saren, Justin Saren, Duncan Kistler, Griffin Kistler, Bronwyn Kistler, Wylie Kistler, Dylan Kistler, and many great- grandchildren. She had many friends and will be sorely missed. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 3rd, 3pm to 7pm at Muehlig Funeral Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 4th at 10am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Ann Arbor. A luncheon will follow.
