Jacqueline (Jackie) Catherine Conlon, age 83, of Appleton, Wisconsin went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 19, 2019. Jackie was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. She was born at home on September 11, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan to Raymond and Lieselotte Kirsten. Jackie attended Saint Ambrose High School in Detroit, Michigan, and then went on to graduate from Dearborn High School, Dearborn, Michigan in 1954. She earned an Associate in Arts from Henry Ford Community College, Dearborn, Michigan in 1956, then a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. She was an active member of the Sigma Kappa sorority. She devoted herself to early elementary education as a teacher for over 20 years in the Dearborn parochial and public school system. After a successful career in education, she focused on sewing and quilting for her family and charitable organizations. She was active member in numerous quilting groups; First Presbyterian Church of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Bloomington Quilters’ Guild, Bloomington Indiana, First Presbyterian Church, Bloomington, Indiana, Needlecrafters of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Ann Arbor, Michigan, C.A.A.D.Y. Corner Quilters, Chelsea, Michigan. Jackie also enjoyed sponsoring several foreign graduate students through the Bloomington-Worldwide Friendship Friends Program while residing in Bloomington, Indiana. In Ann Arbor, Michigan, she served as Deacon and choir member at the Westminster Presbyterian Church. Jackie is survived by her children; John (Renee) Lazar, Robert (Lisa) Lazar, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Jackie is further survived by her brother R. Timothy (Kathy) Kirsten and her sister Michele (Bruce) Walker. She is also survived by Howard’s children; David (Margaret) Conlon, Christine (Steve) Stratton, Daniel (Amanda) Conlon, Dennis Conlon, Donald Conlon, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Robert J. Lazar, her second husband, Howard E. Conlon, and her sister, Patricia Schweninger. A funeral service for Jackie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 16, 2019 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1500 Scio Church Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48103. Family and friends may visit at the church from 10 a.m. until the service. Jackie will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery, Ann Arbor, Michigan in a private family graveside ceremony.
