Whittaker, James Marion age 94, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2012 at Brookdale Senior Residence in Ann Arbor, MI. He was born in Greenville, Ohio, the youngest of six children. James served with honor in the Pacific during World War II and graduated from Bowling Green State University before teaching, coaching and serving in the administration of the Flint Public Schools. Mr. Whittaker was preceded in death by his siblings and his beloved grandson Andrew Kotowicz. He is survived by his loving wife of seventy years Frances, their children Mark and Michele, son-in-law William, and grandchildren Aly, Charles, Madeline and great-granddaughter Anna Kotowicz. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a contribution to your favorite charity in Mr. Whittaker’s name. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 1:00pm at Muehlig Funeral Chapel, 403 S. Fourth Ave., Ann Arbor, MI 48104.
