It is with great sadness that the family of LaDonna Tavis Weber announces her passing. LaDonna was born in Bismarck, ND on October 8, 1929 and she died peacefully at her home in Ann Arbor, MI on February 19, 2024 at the age of 94.
LaDonna was predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years, Wendell W. Weber, and is survived by her children Jane Holt Weber (Lawrence Becker) & Theodore Wendell Weber (Deanne Delahunty), and her grandchildren Nathan Holt Becker & Nina Frances Weber.
LaDonna graduated from the College of St. Scholastica in 1951 and then pursued graduate studies in social work at the University of Minnesota. She met Wendell soon thereafter. Married in 1952, they lived in Baltimore, Chicago, San Francisco, London, England, and New York City & Larchmont, NY before moving to Ann Arbor in 1974. In every place they called home, they were quick to locate the local bookstore as they were both voracious readers. Though she worked in many different jobs over her life, LaDonna's most rewarding position was with The Survey Research Center at The University of Michigan's Institute for Social Research, from which she retired in 1994.
We will remember LaDonna as a woman of compassion & determination who possessed a liberal spirit & generous sense of humor, a loving mother & grandmother, and a devoted partner to Wendell. May she rest now in peace.
A private family service will be held in Ann Arbor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to The Center For Discovery: https://thecenterfordiscovery.org/donate/
