

Margaret was born February 18, 1945 to Edward and Genevieve Nelson. She lived her entire life in the Ann Arbor area including the last 48 years in the Burns Park home she grew up in. Summers as a child were spent on the Nelson family farm in Adrian which remained a special place for her. She is a graduate of Pioneer High School and Cleary College. After college she worked at National Educational Television where she met Fred Osterwisch and married in 1966.
Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an amazing cook, active gardener, runner, rower and loved spending time with family. Margaret loved the outdoors and hiking. She took many trips to Southwestern national parks, and especially enjoyed the Grand Canyon. She was an outgoing person with a great sense of humor and was liked by all who met her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ritchie Jeanne Meade and brother Jack Nelson. She is survived by her husband Fred, son Carl (Jennifer) Osterwisch of Ann Arbor, daughter Carrie (Marcello) Arreguin of Saline, grandchildren Eric & Allison Osterwisch and Alex & Gabriel Arreguin, brother David (Sandy) Nelson, and brother-in-law J. Michael Meade.
No memorial is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org), Grand Canyon Conservancy (grandcanyon.org) or the Humane Society of Huron Valley (hshv.org).
