Amid the sadness of Mary's death, I read this in Evening Prayer last Tuesday:

I shall know the fullness of joy, when I see your face, O Lord....
Fulfillment and endless peace in your presence.

Mary's longing fulfilled. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, fullness of joy in your presence.

Keeley family, you are beautiful. May the Lord comfort you.

I worked with Mary at Tappan Middle School for 11 years. Her gentle manner, sensitivity, intelligence, and devotion to God were always apparent. To me, she was a modern saint, whom I can only hope to emulate.  May she enjoy the glories of heaven.  To Mary's many beloved relatives, I am sincerely sorry for your loss.

God bless you, Mary.  May the light in you never go out- but now glow all the brighter in paradise.

I worked with Mary at Tappan for many years. She was a kind and gentle soul. On a four day field trip to Camp we saved a a swallow together. We were taking a walk around camp and Mary noticed a bird trapped in an empty cabin. It had gotten in through a crack in the soffit. We opened doors and windows and chased it out. Mary was always there for those who needed her.  We took yoga classes together, it was a nice time to spend together away from the always hectic middle school life. I know she was a devote Catholic and there is a place for her in heaven. Mary will be missed, may she rest in peace.💕🙏💕

Mary was a relentlessly giving woman.  Serve, serve, serve.  Give, give, give.  This spring she completed the last of a four year Bible study.  I knew her from that.  She loved God deeply.  She remained peaceful about her diagnosis of leukemia, because she entrusted her future, full of glory beyond all comparison, entirely to God.  As a teacher in Ann Arbor in the winter she would check for "snow days." May the angels greet her in Paradise and she can make them some snow angels.

I have been so blessed and inspired by Mary’s faithfulness and by her gentle, generous, calm and cheerful presence. Even brief conversations with her were encouraging. I can only imagine what a gift she was to her students! I am sure that her influence in their lives will be a gift that truly keeps on giving. She will be missed by many, and most of all by those of you closest to her. Be assured of my prayers that God comfort and console you during this time and in the days ahead.  Leanna McCully

To Mary's family:
Thank you for sharing with us your kind, faithful, and sweet Mary!  My sincere condolences.
She's been a good friend- whether just to compare notes about school topics or to visit  Greenfield Village a while ago.  Mary had been in my prayers since she was first diagnosed a few months ago, when the leukemia seemed to be a slow growing type...  She continued her faithful work at Tappan till retired in June, and her faithful service at CTK  to the end.
Her last text to me, on July 31, was typical Mary: patiently commenting on that first round of chemo ("tired") and looking forward to more healing.  It was a bit of a shock that the illness took her so quickly.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Mary's passing. I remember meeting her and her children through swimming in Ann Arbor, and then reconnecting with her through Ann Arbor Public Schools as a Para Pro. She was so kind, passionate, and devoted to the work of helping others. I want her family to know that she made the world a better place and will be missed by many.

Mary was a colleague of mine at Tappan Middle School.  She always greeted me with such kindness and quiet joy.  Her work ethic and love and compassion for students was always evident.  She was truly a follower of Jesus and a child of the light.  Her depth and breadth of faith was humbling.  I will miss her and send my deepest condolences to the family.

Mary was a kind, thoughtful and diligent staff member who helped students learn not only the academics but also how to live with grace and consideration of others.  Mary was guided and governed by important core principles and values in all that she did and said.   It was evident from her words and actions that she was a disciple of Christ.  All of us could count of her cheerful disposition and willingness to tackle any assignment.  She was a model of faithfulness and had an amazing work ethic.  Mary loved her family and talked about them and what they were engaged in, e.g. swimming, etc.   I want to extend my deepest condolences to Mary's family.

I pray for peace and comfort in your time of grief. Mary’s presence at Tappan was truly a calming and reassuring presence during my time being colleagues with her. She will be truly missed and always remembered. May the Lord bless and keep you in His comfort and grace.

Mary was such a quiet, humble, faithful servant of God and His people. To name just one area of service, she was one of our most active weekday sacristans. When I interviewed her for our church newsletter almost 3 years ago, I asked how many Masses she had served on over the years. She estimated more than 2,000 -- and it was probably at least 200 more by the time she died. She will be missed on many levels by all who knew her. Rest in peace, Mary.

I had the pleasure to work with Mary many years ago. She was a great teacher and a very spiritual person. 

I loved reconnecting with her in person and via her photos on FB.

Mary Keeley was a blessing to many people. She had such a servants heart. She was always willing to help. Her cheerfulness in spite of her illness made us think that she was going to be with us a lot longer than she was. She will be greatly missed by her parish family, her school, family, and her birth family. May she rest in peace, completely healed. Amen amen.

Mary and I were roommates many years ago. She was a kind, gentle person (but no pushover). Her students were fortunate to have her; I’m sure she was patient with them. We will miss her dearly.

I worked with Mary for many years at Tappan Middle School.  She was an incredibly sweet person, very hard-working, and loved the kids so much. She never complained about any assignment that was given to her. I loved being greeted by her each morning when I arrived as she often covered before school supervision. On some occasions we had a chance to talk about our faith and I think she truly lived her life being the hands of Jesus. I was devastated to hear of her passing today but I have no doubt she was greeted with open loving arms from our Father when she arrived. Praying for comfort and peace for her family and friends. She will be missed.
