

Ralph Milton Huntley, age 92, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, died Friday morning, January 23, 2015 at Arbor Hospice, after an extend illness. He was born March 19, 1922, in Rudyard, Michigan, the son of the late Charles O. Huntley and Matilda (Bos) Huntley. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Noll and his children, Richard Huntley, Gerald Huntley, Arnold Huntley and Carol (Huntley) Dorr; 9 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson, along with many loving nieces, nephews and relatives. He was preceded in death by brother Charles E. Huntley, his sisters Lois Wild, Vera Peffers and Dorothy Rempel and his son Donald Huntley. Ralph, was drafted into the Army July 1, 1943. He served at Fort Richardson for 6 years and then transferred to the Air Force, where he retired as a Chief Master Sgt. after 20 years of service. In 1963, he moved his family to Ann Arbor where he began working at the University of Michigan Hospital. In 1966 to 1978 he became the manager of the University of Michigan Credit Union. Between 1978 to 1983, he worked for Anacomp, Inc. and Cybar Computer Co. In 1983, he worked at Georgetown Country Club Golf Course. As an avid fan of the University of Michigan Wolverines, Ralph attended and ushered men and women’s basketball games and gymnastics meets. He was also on the chain gang for Wolverine football games. He enjoyed bowling, and in 1992 he was inducted into the Ann Arbor Bowling Association’s Hall of Fame. He participated in 38 ABC Bowling Championships. Ralph also was an avid golfer and on October 25, 2000 he had a Hole in One on the eighth hole at Georgetown. Visitation will be at Muehlig Funeral Chapel, on Monday, January 26 from 4 pm to 8pm. Followed by funeral services on Tuesday, January 27 at 11am. A military ceremony will take place at a future date at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bridgewater, MI or Arbor Hospice in Ann Arbor, MI.
