

Mosby Blakey, Rose Evelyn passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the University of Michigan Hospital. She was born August 4, 1944 in Morganfield, Kentucky the daughter of the late Jordan and Rubenia Blakey. She was a longtime resident of Ann Arbor. Rose Evelyn attended the Ann Arbor Public Schools and graduated from Pioneer High School in 1962. She proudly served in the United States Army, Woman’s Army Corp. from 1962 through 1965, attaining the rank of Specialist 4th class. She was employed by the Ann Arbor Public Schools, and the State of Michigan Family Independent Agency, Arbor Heights Center as Business Manager after 32 years of service. Rose Evelyn accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the Rev. Garther Roberson of the Second Baptist Church of Ypsilanti. She was a member of Chapter 310, Vietnam Veterans of America and the National Chapter of Vietnam Veterans of America. She is survived by her daughters; Sonja D. Mosby, Tasha N. Essell-Myers, son-in-law; Jacques O. Myersl, grandsons; Donovan A. Essell and Devin C. Essell, and a host of sister-in-laws, brother-in-law, nieces, nephew, and dear friends. A Home Going Service will be Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Second Baptist Church of Ypsilanti (301 S Hamilton St, Ypsilanti.) with family hour from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. The family will greet friends at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel (403 South Fourth Ave., Ann Arbor) on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. Rose Evelyn will be laid to rest at United Memorial Gardens following her service.
