Ruth Kempf Thompson, age 87, passed away on December 2, 2010 at Towsley Village in Chelsea, MI. She was born May 13, 1923 in Ann Arbor, the daughter of George William and Clara Mae (Boos) Kempf. She married Hubert Thompson on August 31, 1972. Ruth was employed as a legal secretary for 31 years. She was also a member of Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor, a former member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, and a Sunday school teacher for several years. She and her husband enjoyed many years during summers at Sunnybrook, which was located in the Hiawatha Sportsman’s Club. Ruth is survived by a niece, Nancy (Robert) Morgan; four nephews: George W., Carl (Joan), Robert (Peggy) and Roger (Sandra) Kempf; and three stepsons: Robert, William (Kay), and John (Devera). She is also survived by several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, her stepson Frederic, two brothers, and one sister.
