I am deeply saddened to hear of the unexpected passing of Sam.  Sam hired my company to liquidate his Pinckney estate at auction when he made the decision to move to California to spend the majority of his retirement with his beautiful daughter and grandchildren.  Sam was about as laid back of a customer that we ever had.  He was a genuine pleasure to work with and I thought of him often and his cross country retirement venture. Sammy was the last of the good guys.  I missed him when he retired but this is so sad.  He seemed to be one that would live forever.  It's just hard to believe that he is gone.  Working with Sammy for over 20 years was a privilege for sure.  That smile was  one to behold.  My kids remember Sam as "The guy that looked like Yosemite Sam"  Rest in Peace my friend, you will surely be missed.

Sad news,  Great guy.  Rode school bus together and hung out in high school. Haven't seen Sam in over 40 years  but still have good memories of the past. Sammy. will definitely missed by anyone who knew him.

I ran into Sam about a year ago after not seeing each other for nearly 35 years. Same old Sam. My prayers to all of the family. So sad.

In a world of inpatient people there was Sam. A man who if your lucky he would call you friend. Always willing to put his hand out to help. Always time for a story. A man who loved his family so much and always bragging about them. I will miss you my friend but I will always remember that awesome smile. Dear Family of Sam, I met your beloved Sam a few times many years ago thru his soul mate Carla.  Such a neat hard working man that loved his family to the fullest. I am letting you know that my thoughts and prayers and with the family.  Such a shame, he just started to enjoy his retirement.  Now he is in Heaven watching over you.  He will be always in your heart, and that no one can take away.  You will be in my prayers for comfort and anything else you may need.  Such a wonderful family, and such a horrific tragedy.

I just heard the news today and I am so very sorry for your family's loss.  I live three doors down from Sam on Wood St. That Harley lovin' guy will be sadly missed in our neighborhood.  Sam and Mo on their daily walks... Sam strolling along in that cool, calm, collected, retired way. Small talk always evolved around family.  You all should know his pride, love, and devotion.  I last spoke with Sam on Friday.  He was looking forward to celebrating Father's Day spending time with family.  Brielle is going to miss her Grandpa. Sam Uphaus one crazy care free guy and yet one who cared and was sincere about his friendships. He always had that "smile" even when things were not going well.
At least Sam went out doing one of the things he loved to do, riding his bike with long time friends. We haven't seen you in several years Sammy, but we remember and you will be missed. Until we meet again.
