Age 90, died May 18, 2015 at his home in Ann Arbor. He was born May 23, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan, to Harvey and Marie (Johnson) Scott who both preceded him in death. After serving in Europe with the 69th Infantry Division during WWII, Mr. Scott received an M.A. degree from Wayne University and subsequently taught high school English and journalism for thirty years in the Detroit Public School System. He also taught English composition part time at the University of Detroit for fifteen years. Mr. Scott was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Ann Arbor and was also a life member of Ann Arbor Post 46 of the American Legion and Post 423 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by his sister, Harvie La Moreaux, his nephews, Michael La Moreaux and Fred Scott, his niece, Sarah Eckstrom, and two grandnephews and two grandnieces. His family will receive friends at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel, 403 South Fourth Ave in Ann Arbor on Tuesday, May 26, from 2-4 and 6-8. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 27 at First Baptist Church, 512 E. Huron Street in Ann Arbor at 1:00pm with viewing an hour before. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Ann Arbor followed by a
reception at First Baptist Church.
