Baylis, William “Bill” of Grand Haven, Michigan formerly of Ann Arbor died Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Inn at Freedom Village in Holland. He was 71 years of age. Bill was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan the son of Lloyd G. Baylis and Maxine Belle Baylis, nee Gharst. After graduating in 1961 from Ann Arbor High he entered the United States Navy. In 1964 he married Janet Marie Baylis, nee Harris, sadly she preceded him in death in 2005. Bill was a member of the Ann Arbor Kiwanis for over 32 years. He loved to golf and spend time at their cottage. He retired from Michigan Bell after more than 35 years of service. He is survived by his sister; Bonnie (Bill) Trap of Grand Haven, brother in law; Robert (Lindsey) Harris, niece; Jennifer (Ted) Fricano, nephews; Andre (Lexi) Harris and Daniel (Misti) Trap. He is also survived by 10 great nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel of Ann Arbor. The family will receive guests from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Bethlehem Cemetery.
