Dear Peggy, Jeanine, Paul and John,
We are saddened to learn of Al's death.
We have many fond memories of him and his humorous, interesting and kind personality. He was a wonderful, friendly neighbor.
Although it has been many years, we remember our dinners out and at your home. I recall one day we arrived home from a weekend in a snowstorm and Al had shoveled our steps and door so we could get into our house. Such a good neighbor!

Dear Peggyanne & Family,
I am heartbroken about your loss.  I had so much fun with Al during the many Navy-Way Bootcamps, and Naval Academy Tours, and while sharing duty at the visitor's desk.  He had such a wonderful sense of humor.  His  "I’m from the south -  south Bronx!"  Will be remembered by many.  Just mention Frank Sinatra and Al would break out in song.  (I am still waiting for the Dodger movie).  I will cherish such memories forever.   Barb and I both send our warmest prayers for all Al loved and all those who loved him.  We will miss Al so very deeply.

Dear Peggyann,

While I have not seen either you or Al since "retiring" from the USNA Tour and Guide Service, you both have always remained in my heart and thoughts.  I have so many good memories of times with Al.  He was both a wonderful mentor and friend, and always a great cheerleader.   Al was a great storyteller and had a terrific sense of humor.  He had his serious side as well, and we often had those discussions while waiting for our tour groups to arrive.  Al spoke so often of his family - that love was always evident.

I am so terribly sorry for your loss.  I pray that you can feel the loving arms of our Lord around you now, helping you through this difficult time.  "....it was then that I carried you..."   Let the love of those around you now help you through your grief.

Wishing Al fair winds & following seas from his family here at the Armel Leftwich Visitor Center.  Al will be missed by all.  Always quick to make us laugh and smile daily.  Thinking of his family now during this challenging time.

Dear Peggyann,
I am heartbroken to learn of your (and our) loss of Al.  So many days, tours, stories, memories.  Particularly:  says I-I’m from the south. Says Al-I’m from the south- south Bronx!  

I’m still struggling with my loss of Bob💕 so I know grief. “They” say it will get better. I don’t see it yet but so.

Just know I love you and loved Al’s stories.

I worked with Al for 20 years at the U.S. Naval Academy's Armel-Leftwich Visitor Center.  As a tour guide, he walked and drove visitors from around the world, sharing with them the history of the Academy and the life of midshipmen.  Visitors, young and old, were entertained by his stories and charmed by his sense of humor.  He was a wonderful ambassador for the Navy and the Naval Academy.
He was loved by visitors, staff and, his family (especially)...and me. 

You can't think of Al without a warm smile coming to your heart. 💖

Our deepest sympathy.  I remember as if it was yesterday the fun and pleasure of working with Al at USNA.  Especially our "Boot Camp" sessions with the Kids.
