

Anthony James Zecca, affectionately known as Tony by his friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, in Annapolis, MD. Born in the Bronx, NY, and raised in Staten Island, NY, Tony dedicated his life to serving his country with distinction.
Tony attended Mannes School of Music in Manhattan to explore his passion for symphony percussion. This experience led to a lifelong passion for music, and he also became a professional musician.
Tony had a distinguished career with the United States Coast Guard, serving on active duty as a Quartermaster and then as a civilian. His unwavering commitment spanned over 31 years, a testament to his dedication and patriotism.
After retiring from the Coast Guard, Tony continued to serve his community in various roles. He worked as an Assistant Harbor Master for the City of Annapolis, a Historical Interpreter for Mount Vernon, and an 18th Century Furniture Expert Consultant for Historic Annapolis. His expertise and passion in these areas were deeply valued and respected.
Tony's passions were as varied as they were profound. He was an accomplished sailor, loved music, immersed himself in the rich tapestry of American history, and collected antiques. His enthusiasm for these interests was infectious, bringing joy and inspiration to those around him.
He made his home in Stevensville, MD, where he created a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Tony's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him.
He is survived by his loving family and friends, who will forever hold his memory dear.
A visitation will be held Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 2 to 5 PM at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, Maryland 21401. A funeral service will occur Sunday, January 26, 2025, at 5 PM in the funeral home chapel, with a reception to follow from 6 to 8 PM.
