Frederick Hanlon

Frederick Vallette McNair Hanlon - Age 61, peacefully left us on Monday, January 8, 2024, in his hometown of Annapolis, MD. Son of Elisabeth McNair Hanlon and Lt. Col. Edmund William Hanlon. Beloved grandfather, father, husband, and brother. Survived by wife Ludy; children Frederick and Johann; grandchildren Noelle and Nathaniel; brother of Eileen, Andy, Anne, Meg, John, and William; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. He lived a memorable life that he now smiles back on. As he used to put it - “it’s not the years, it’s the miles.”

Fred achieved a successful career in the marine industry as a boat builder known for his creativity and customer care. His proudest moments were caring for his family and sharing quality time with them. He was mesmerized by his grandchildren. He shared with us his sense of humor and unwavering positivity. He will be remembered for his passion for boats, cars, coffee, sweets, and his larger-than-life presence.
