

George D. Clark, Jr. The Right Reverend George Daniel Clark, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on July 10, 2016. Born in Annapolis on August 24, 1936 to the late George D. Clark, Sr. and Agnes Colburn Clark. He attended St. Mary’s Elementary School and High School. He also attended John Hopkins University and graduated as a certified Radiologist. He served in the 29th Division Maryland Army National Guard from 1958- 1962 in the medical corps. Later in the 1990s he served in the Maryland Defense Force as a Lt. Colonel of Chaplains. Rev. Clark was ordained as an Anglican Priest and was elevated to Bishop in 1993. In 1952 he joined the Independent Fire Co. #2, Annapolis Fire Department, where he served as Lieutenant, Captain, and Assistant Marshall over 53 years. He was President of the Company from 1982 – 2005. In 2005 Rev. Clark and his late wife Marie Bethel Clark, moved to Federalsburg, Caroline County, on the Eastern Shore. There he joined the Federalsburg Volunteer Fire Department and served as Chaplain. He also served as Chaplain for Caroline County Fire and EMS. Originally a member of Annapolis Lodge #89, AF&AM, he later joined Nanticoke Lodge #172, AF&AM. He had been a member of BPOE, #622, and Ancient City Lodge of the IOOF before moving. He is survived by his brother, J. Wesley Clark, his sons George Daniel (Lynn Ann) Clark III and John Laird (Jacqueline Marie) Clark. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren and 4 nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, Inc. 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD 21401 on Friday July 15 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday July 16 at 11 AM at St. Paul’s Anglican Church 1505 Crownsville Road, Crownsville, MD 21032 burial to follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery.
