

Helen Eva Meade passed away peacefully on November 25, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 1, 1938 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin to George and Beatrice Flentje and was raised in Lodi, Wisconsin. Helen enjoyed living in Madison, Wisconsin; Princeton, New Jersey and most recently Annapolis, Maryland where she worked as a receptionist at Wharton, Levin, Ehrmantraut & Klein for 23 years before retiring in 2006 to Estero, Florida which she called her 'Paradise'. A loving mother, adoring and proud grandmother, and loyal, fun-loving friend, Helen will be remembered for her energy, sense of style, youthful spirit and zest for life. Her family will treasure memories of her delicious home cooking and pies, exceptional hand knit and sewn items, love of playing piano and attending concerts at Florida Gulf Coast University, and the warmth of her Midwest heart. Traveling and making connections with family and friends meant the world to her. Helen is preceded in death by her beloved sister, Jane Geeslin, and niece Suzanne Weber Klopp; she is survived by her daughters, Lori Meade of Princeton, New Jersey and Carla Fleming of Annapolis, Maryland; grandsons Jay Fleming of Annapolis and Ben Fleming (spouse Laura) of Annapolis; brothers John Flentje (spouse Nancy) of Charlottesville, Virginia; and Jake Flentje (spouse Rhoda) of Hazelhurst, Wisconsin; sister Mary Ellen Bancroft of Lodi, Wisconsin; former spouse Dale Meade (spouse Sallie) of Princeton, New Jersey; and many nephews, nieces, and extended relatives. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Helen's name to a Cancer Research organization of your choice. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 7 at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street. Gathering 10 AM. followed by Service at 10:30 AM. A celebration will follow in Lodi, Wisconsin in June 2019.
