

On November 26, 2023, James William Tobias; James was born on April 24, 1942, to the late James and Margaret Tobias in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He attended high school at Abbot Pennings in Green Bay, received a BA from St. Norberts College and an MA from Central Michigan University. James received a commission as an officer in the United States Army following his graduation from St. Norberts and went to serve his country around the world, including two deployments to Vietnam. He served in the Army for 21 years and later worked as an Intelligence Analyst for the Department of Defense at the Pentagon for 14 years.
James dedicated most of his life to serving his country but found some time to share his love for football (especially the Green Packers), sports, and reading with his wife, Kathy. Jim met Kathy when he was home on leave from the Army in 1970 and were married on September 11, 1971. They raised two children: Amy Tobias (her husband Michael Davis), and Tim Tobias. He shared many laughs with his grandson Maverick and will be remembered by his friends and family as a man who was generous with his leadership, friendship and love. Survivors include Barbara Stenger, Kathryn Tobias, Jamie Steckart and Kelly Jones.
The family will receiving friends and family on Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street Annapolis, Maryland 21401. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 2 PM.
In lieu of flowers memorials in James name to Disabled American Veterans will be appreciated.
