I very much enjoyed working with John in the Anne Arundel County Public School  System. He was a diligent worker  and an absolute gentleman.  And he always enjoyed a good game of golf which he had the leisure to play during his retirement years.

Sheila Finneran Madden , sister.                             The gift of memories of John will always be in the hearts of my 3 children, 9 grandchildren and self. He might have been my baby brother but had a giant heart full of love, fun adventures and hugs. We’ll missed his entertaining stories at dinner, staying a long time at the table like times of old, the Irish way ☘️  We’ll pray too brother that the Redskins get their name back ! Will miss most of all our sharing ❤️ you

A very sad loss. 

As roommates at Severn School, Wheeling College, and University of Maryland, John and I go back a long way, a special friendship of 54 years.  

I will miss so many of his endearing qualities, but especially his irrepressible sense of humor, joyous laugh, generous spirit, and devotion to family and friends.

Safe journey fellow Irishman, you’re  in our hearts and prayers.

I will keep you posted on UMD and Redskins seasons, until we meet again.
