

Kathleen Noreen FitzPatrick On March 7, 2016 Kathleen N. FitzPatrick passed away with her loving family at her side at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD. Kathleen was born on September 24, 1938 to the late Edwin S. Tweedy and Mary Brown Tweedy. Kathleen lost her mother Mary when she was seven years old. She was later adopted by her father’s second wife, the late Lillian Tweedy along with her brother James (Jim) and her sister Mary Lou. Lillian and Edwin subsequently had another child, Kathleen’s baby sister, Lynne. Kathleen was a 1956 graduate of The Mary Louis Academy in Jamaica Estates, NY where she had grown up. She then attended The College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, NY and graduated in 1960. Kathleen went on to obtain a Masters Degree in English from St. John’s University in 1962. She became a grammar school teacher in the New York City Public School System. Kathleen subsequently became a Catholic School teacher at St. Anne’s Catholic Parochial Grammar School in Garden City, NY where she educated many young children and was loved by so many. She also taught religious education at St. Mary’s Parish in Manhasset, NY. Kathleen met her late husband Joseph while she was in college, whom she married on July 8, 1961. There were happily married for 43 years until he passed away in May of 2004. Kathleen is survived by her children Mary Kathleen FitzPatrick-Carroll and her husband John, of East Stroudsburg, PA; Brian J. FitzPatrick and his wife, Maureen of Annapolis, MD; and Christopher M. FitzPatrick of Annapolis, MD. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Thomas J. Carroll, Patrick Carroll, Katie Lynne FitzPatrick, Daniel J. FitzPatrick, and Anna T. FitzPatrick. Kathleen is additionally survived by her three siblings, James (Jim) Tweedy, Sister Mary Lou Tweedy, and Lynne Higgins. Friends and family call at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, Inc. 147 Duke of Gloucester St, Annapolis, MD 21401 on Thursday March 10th from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian will be held Friday March 11th at 9 AM St. John Neumann Catholic Church 620 N. Bestgate Rd, Annapolis, MD 21401. Burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Autism Speaks.
