journey with cancer at the age of 65, surrounded by her family. She is
survived by her husband of 44 years Carl (Eddie), their daughter
Kristina, son Carl and wife Tiffany, and her brother Bob. She is also
survived by her two grandchildren whom she adored, Kayla and Jack.
Nila was born in Pomona, California, but moved to Annapolis where she
and her future husband became high school sweethearts. Her wish was
to get married and raise a family of her own. Throughout her life,
she worked unremittingly to ensure that her children were provided and
cared for. She connected with her grandchildren through a love of
video games and would be caught playing them late into the night. Her
favorite video game series was The Legend of Zelda. Nila was also a
skilled beader and would make beautifully artistic jewelry and beaded
bags. She had many repeat customers at her Etsy shop that commented
that her pieces were like works of art. In her words, beading was her
most favorite thing in the world.
Nila will be remembered for being strong-willed, but also for all of
the love she had to give for her family. She will be greatly missed.
Her ashes will be scattered in a private service for immediate family
members at a future date.
