Benjamin Andrew Ricks

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Benjamin Andrew Ricks, who tragically lost his life far too soon. He leaves behind a legacy defined by unwavering devotion, deep compassion, and a love for his children that surpassed everything else.

Benjamin was a man whose greatest joy and purpose in life was being a father. He poured his entire heart into raising and loving his three children: Saxson Ricks, Bellamy Ricks, and Slater Ricks. To know Benjamin was to know how fiercely he loved them — his world revolved around their laughter, their growth, and their happiness. Every day, he strived to be the kind of father who not only protected and provided, but inspired.

He is survived by his beloved wife and partner in life, Lizzie Ricks, whose strength and grace matched his own. Their love story was one of mutual respect, humor, and deep connection — a bond that will endure beyond this life. Benjamin also leaves behind his father, Patrick Ricks, and Patrick’s wife, Leticia, along with his stepbrother, Marshall Brown. He is also survived by his three brothers: Daniel Ricks and his wife Katlyn, along with their children Aubree, Rilee, Landon, Harper, and Braylon; Timothy Ricks; and Jonathan Ricks and his wife Kayla, along with their children Peyton and Easton. Each of his brothers remembers Benjamin as a loyal, loving sibling — a man of integrity, quiet strength, and a heart full of generosity.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Debra Sweetland, as well as his grandparents, Richard Ricks and Jean Ricks, whose love and influence helped shape the man he became.

Benjamin’s presence lit up every room he entered. His infectious smile and unforgettable laugh had a way of making people feel instantly at ease — as though they had known him forever. He brought joy and warmth to every moment, and his ability to find humor and light even in difficult times was a gift to everyone around him.

Those who knew Benjamin will remember his steady presence, his generous spirit, and his unshakable dedication to those he loved. Whether it was helping a friend in need or offering words of comfort and wisdom, Benjamin lived his life in service of others.

His absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but his memory — and that radiant smile — will continue to guide, comfort, and inspire all who were lucky enough to know and love him.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Benjamin and the beautiful legacy he leaves behind. All who knew and loved him are welcome to join in remembering the extraordinary man he was.
