She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Ward (Brett); her grandchildren, Krystal Couch (Cody) and Taylor Ward (Allison); and her great-grandchildren, Kaylyn Couch, Kason Couch, Ryder Ward, Connor Ward, and Turner Ward. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lillie Murphy; her sister, Betty Owens; and her brother, James Murphy.
Funeral services for Bertha will be Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Eastaboga Baptist Church with Rev. Jeremy Tuiolosega officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Bertha was a native of Calhoun county her entire life. She worked at Oxford Fashions for many years and then worked at Walmart in Oxford. Bertha loved to travel and went many places over the years. Some of her favorites were to the Caribbean islands, Canada and Italy. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoyed going shopping and cooking. She will be missed.
