Betty Mae Moody

It is with deep sorrow that we announce our precious mother, Betty Wood Moody (90) of Ohatchee, Alabama went to be with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ on December 1, 2024. Betty was born on March 12, 1934 to George L. Wood and Emma Wood in Brilliant, Alabama. She is survived by her three daughters, Helen Abernathy, Rebecca Hammett (David), Karen Moody, and son, Waffern Lee Moody Jr. (Sherry), eight grandchildren, Zendy Franks (Mark), Terrance Abernathy (Bethany), Chris Baker, Tracy Wagnon (Clint), Mark Hammett (Magan), Jeremy Dix, Jessica Moody (Josh), Alex Moody (Faith), twenty five great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Catherine Wood, Lunette Moody Rice, Barbara Moody, and brother-in-law Randy Moody (Linda). She is preceded in death by her husband, Waffern Lee Moody Sr., and her parents, George L. Wood and Emma Wood, brothers Willburn Wood, Duel Wood, Bill Wood, Alden Wood (Gail), Donald Ray Wood, sisters Oplean Dutton (Quay), Melbaline Skovira (Charles), and Doris Jean Darmer (Johnny). Pallbearers will be grandsons Mark Hammett, Chris Baker, Alex Moody, Terrance Abernathy, Josh Carter, and Mark Franks.

Services will be held at Gray Brown Service Mortuary 1329 Wilmer Ave. Anniston, AL 36201. Visitation will be on December 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Service will be at 12:00 PM with the Bishop Byron Duke. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her name to Alexandria Valley Church of God building fund at 401 Alexandria-Wellington Road Alexandria, AL 36250.
