Betty Ruth Youngblood Pugh (Mamaw), 84 went to be with the lord on February 3, 2015 surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 12 pm Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with Bro. James Abernathy officiating. Burial will follow at Edgemont Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Pugh was born in Talladega but had been a resident of Anniston until 2001 when she moved to Eastaboga. She had been a resident of The Meadows in Jacksonville for the last two years. Mrs. Pugh retired from the Anniston School System where she was an assistant Librarian for 23 years. She was a member of First Congregational Full Gospel Church of Anniston where she was church secretary for many years. She was also a member of Alabama Retired Teachers Association and Calhoun County Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Pugh is survived by her children, Lynne and George Williams of Eastaboga, David and Mary Anne Pugh of Pell City and Randy Pugh of Alexandria. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kelly (Joey) Baker, Kristi (Eric) Shaw, Amber (Shane) Bowers, Rachel (Zach) Davis, Dylan Pugh (Whitley Shepard), Sarah (Brian) Renforth, Savanna Williams and Rebekah Williams; eight great-grandchildren, Alissa Wood, Caleb Bowers, Noah Gardner, Kadin Gardner, Jacob Bowers, Logan Baker, Everett Davis and Marley Stanfield and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pugh was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Herman Pugh, infant daughter, Cheryl (Sherrie) Pugh, son, Phillip (Tommy) Pugh; her parents, Alex and Edna Youngblood and two brothers, Ralph Youngblood and Bill Youngblood. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. The Family would like to thank the staff of the Meadows Assisted Living Facility for the care that they gave Mamaw since 2013.
