Mrs. Sherwood passed away Friday, November 2, 2012 at her home in Alexandria.
Survivors include her husband, John Sherwood; daughter, Evelynn Mitchell and husband Tim; son, Chris Sherwood; sister, Linda Wright, and many cousins.
Mrs. Sherwood was preceeded in death by a son, John Simpson Sherwood Jr.; parents, J.V. and Annie Mae Gregg; sister, Dorothy McGough and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sherwood was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She was a graduate of Alexandria High School.
