

Saks – We will be celebrating the life of Brandon Calep Murphree, age 18, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel, 11:00 a.m., Thursday July 7, 2011, with Dr. Roland Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Brandon passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011.
Brandon is survived by a large, loving family; father and mother, Steve and Lori Murphree; Paternal Grandparents, Calep and Onzell Murphree; Maternal Grandparents Garry and Annette Fagan; Melba and Larry Cate Sr; Great Grandmother, Jimmie O. Carter; Aunts and Uncles Jeff and Shirina Fagan, Mike and Debbie Murphree and Lisa and Richard East. Cousins; Alyssa Fagan, Tyler East, Kaila East and Taylor East.
In honor of his life his pall bearers will be Mike Murphree, Richard East, Tyler East, Taylor East, Robin Murphree and Rick Brown.
Brandon will forever be rememberd as an exceptionally kind, loving, friendly young man with great accomplishments both personal and academic. He was awarded an academic honors scholarship to Jacksonville State University. He graduated from Saks High School having been on the A – B Honor Roll his freshman, sophomore, and senior year, was Vice president of the Spanish Club 2009 and 2011, Treasurer of HOSA, and FOCUS. He received a diploma from the Calhoun County Career Technical Center in medical tech, where he was awarded the Ambassador Award and participated on the fund raising committee and health fair. His community interests and volunteer activities include Red Cross Blood Drive, World Aids Day Awareness, Canned Food Drive and Nursing Home volunteering.
