Mr. Hammonds is survived by his father Norman Hammonds; his sister Robin Hopkins (Ray); his niece RaeAnna Hogue (Jacob) and his nephew Ridge Hopkins.
Mr. Hammonds was preceded in death by his mother Mary Hammonds; his grandmother Leola Hammonds, his grandfather James Hammonds, and his grandmother Vera Louise Kitchens.
A graveside service for Ellis will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Anniston Memorial Gardens, 4000 US Highway 431, Anniston, Alabama 36206.
Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Stevens, Rick Jones, Jim Phillips, Scotty Vice, Tristan Davis and Jordan Davis.
Mr. Hammonds graduated from Alexandria High School in 1985, after graduation he began working construction with Ernie Tidwell until he joined the Marines in 1991. During his time in the Marines he was recon for the special forces, a combat diver, parachutist and a sniper. Mr. Hammond was a true outdoorsman who loved walking the mountains, hunting and fishing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
