Frances Mosley Byron, age 93, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of April 6, 2024. Frances was born on September 4, 1930, to parents Frank B. Mosley and May Bell Harris in Jefferson Alabama. Frances graduated from Anniston High School and worked at the telephone company. Then she met Marvin Marcus Byron, and they were married on September 14th, 1959, at Ft. McClellan, Alabama. They were faithful members of First Baptist Jacksonville for many years
Frances was predeceased by her husband Marvin Byron. Frances is survived by her two sons, Mark Byron, and Michael Byron. Mark Byron is married to Kimberly Byron, and they have three daughters: Samantha, Natalie, and Stephanie. Other surviving family members include sister, Helen Cifuentes, and cousin, Retired Lieutenant Colonel Julie Harris.
Frances is most remembered for her love for the Lord, her constant cheerfulness, her green thumb, and her sweet tooth. She loved her family generously by sacrificing her time and energy for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She did the same for her church family where she sang songs for the services. Some favorite memories from her children are family vacations, how dedicated she was to attending their baseball games, and the time she showed marksmanship by shooting a snake out of a tree because it was going for her honey. Some favorite memories from her grandchildren are playing horses together, having tea parties, walking her dog Clay, using the special cups she kept for them, and eating ice cream together.
She loved the book of Matthew and some of her favorite Scriptures came from Proverbs. One of those being Proverbs 17:22 “A joyful heart is good like medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones”. Frances lived out this verse, always showing a joyful heart. Her family members are grieving her absence but are also rejoicing that she is at home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The visitation will be at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Anniston, AL, Saturday, April 20, 12-2pm. A graveside service will follow at Edgemont Cemetery.
